LAST Drugstore Pick!! MASCARA
Mascara, mascara, mascara. We all love it, we all need it, and we all want the best one. It can be tough to recommend mascara to others. Like our skin, our lashes are all so different. Some grow-in straight, some grow-in curled. Some are super thin, and some are very thick. You tracking with me?? What mascara works best for me, my lashes and what I want out of them, are NOT always best for you!! Lashes can vary SO much from person to person....trying out a few different types

Drugstore Pick #13: BRUSHES > Everything else
Let me rattle off a list of things that brushes can and usually improve: Excessively oily-skin Breakouts Foundation that looks too thin or splotchy Foundation that looks too cakey All of the World's problems. What? A few good brushes will make your makeup look 100x better, cleaner, and almost always make it LAST LONGER! A constant question that I get is "How many times a day do you touch-up your makeup?" Answer: None unless I've got something fancy going at night. A few of th

Drugstore Pick #12: Foundation = My obsession
I lovvvve a good foundation. Like, reeeeeally love it. When I started getting serious about my own makeup, I was SO THANKFUL for a friend to tell me what Dept. store foundation would work best to cover up all of my discoloration and acne spots. I found a full-coverage foundation that was easy to work with that would last for 16 hour days!! Ding ding ding ding ding. I've worn it for YEARS and I will always love it and recommend it to many no matter what else comes along. So wh

Drugstore Pick #11: Under-eye circles? Get out.
Dark under-eye circles plauge most everyone. And for those that don't....well boo-you! A lot of people ask what the heck the darkness is all about and it's actually pretty simple. There's tons of blood around our eyes. Underneathe them, around them, above them...yada yada yada. The darkness that you see is the blood. Allergies, thinning of the skin and collagen (aka aging.) nasal congestion....all of these things can add to the natural progression and inevitability of under-e

Drugstore Pick #10: Bronze-fest, USA
Bronzer applied the wrong way = Jersey Shore Bronzer applied the right way = Thinner cheeks, skinnier nose, lots of dimension. Bronzer is one of those funny products that is USUALLY used the wrong way right out of the gate. The misconception is that it's sole purpose is to make us look darker/tanner/ and anti-pale. No no no. If you hear nothing else I say, hear this: DON'T APPLY BRONZER ALL OVER YOUR FACE TO LOOK TANNER. Please. When used the right way in a soft line under yo

Drugstore Pick #8: Powder Tips so you aren't a Powder fool.
I was scarred by powder when I was in High School. Back in the days of non-digital cameras... (YES, I am a dinosaur,) we could only rely on disposable cameras to capture all of our memories at dances like Prom or Homecoming. I would be SO excited to get to Target a day later and wait for my photos to print to see just HOW good I looked the night before at the dance. Nope. Turns out NO ONE told me that I was Powder Face Mcgee that night. 99% sure I don't remember putting bakin

Drugstore Pick #7: Eyeliners Pt. Two - Pencils
Part two of EYELINERS is alllll about the pencil. To reiterate my general feel of Liquids vs. Pencils, I'll debrief you on my stance that I posted yesterday: I love a good standard eyeliner pencil, but ONLY for the lower lashline/waterline. Because of all of the little creases and lines on our eyelids, pencils are a little tough to get a really good, solid line across our lid. It's not impossible but softer pencils CAN work great for it, but I rarely like the look of it. I'll

Drugstore Pick #7: Eyeliners Pt. One - Liquids!
I say EYE, you say LINER! EYE! ____________! EYE! ______________! I should be embarrassed about that. But I'm not. Lots of questions coming in about the best Drugstore Eyeliners on the market. I got some, I tried some, I loved some and I hated some. I'll split the eyeliner post into two different ones to cover both liquids and pencils since they're pretty different. First: here's my stance on Pencils v. Liquids. I love a good standard eyeliner pencil. But ONLY for the lower l

Forget going green...I'm going Drugstore.
It should be no surprise to you that I’m alllllll about finding new products that I can yap about. I love Sephora, the MAC store, Nordstrom, etc but sometimes it’s REALLY nice to peruse the aisles of Target and pick up some goodies without spending a fortune. That being said, I’m committing to ONLY buying drugstore makeup for the month of Feb in hopes of finding some solid substitutes and new products to save us all a little moolah. Cha-ching. Here’s the good part: I’m going
