Drugstore Pick #12: Foundation = My obsession

I lovvvve a good foundation. Like, reeeeeally love it.

When I started getting serious about my own makeup, I was SO THANKFUL for a friend to tell me what Dept. store foundation would work best to cover up all of my discoloration and acne spots. I found a full-coverage foundation that was easy to work with that would last for 16 hour days!! Ding ding ding ding ding. I've worn it for YEARS and I will always love it and recommend it to many no matter what else comes along.

So when I started looking for a foundation at the Drugstore, my skepticism was sky-high. Long-wear and coverage are MY top two priorities. These are not everyone's!! Some want a little glow, some want a thinner coverage, etc. Picking a foundation is totally one of those things that depends on preference and what works best for YOUR skin. There are totally foundations out there that would work perfect for you, but not for me. And vice versa. Keeping that in mind, I'll tell you about what I found that met all of my requirements.

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation combines the things I most need from my checklist. It claims to wear for 24hrs...it's thin in consistency AND provides really good coverage. Check, check, check. I applied it with a drugstore buffing foundation brush, (I'll post about brushes tomorrow!) and it blended right into my skin. If you'll remember from the my post on Drugstore powder, the word WHIPPED is a VERY great thing to look for when looking at anything that's applied all over your face. Whipped in short, means it blends right into your skin because of how soft it is. For me, knowing that something is whipped is attractive because that means you'll see my face and skin...not a thick layer of product. And no one wants to look like they've got a mask on. Yuck.

What I loved about it: It really did last all-day until I washed it off. It wasn't too cakey when applied with a brush. It has a nice finish so my normally-dry skin didn't look dry at all. In fact, it almost gave me a tiny bit of glow. And it was easy to use. If you're looking for full-coverage and a long-wear foundation for a third of the price of Dept. store foundation, this is a solid contender.

Try it, love it, tag me!! Xx
